The Spetsavtoprom Association has asked the Russian government to increase recovery rates on dump trucks so that Russian automakers can compete with Chinese companies. In this respect report Vedomosti refers to a letter sent to Denis Manturov, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and Trade.
It is stated that the essence of the proposal is to equalize the scrap rate for finished dump trucks and the chassis for them. Separately, the chassis is a basic vehicle on which various types of bodywork are subsequently mounted. It is cheaper than the final product, but its rate is higher. That is why it is much more profitable for Chinese manufacturers to import ready-made dump trucks, which are cheaper to manufacture.
