Much of what we are shown in movies about cars is not true. Such is the cinema, sometimes conventions and simplifications are simply necessary there. But there are also reverse examples – when everything is done “on garlic”.

Especially a lot of this in the movies from previous years. Released in 1974, The Man with the Golden Gun, starring Roger Moore as 007, was full of stunts, supporting and reinforcing the canon that was then forming around Bond.

In one of the scenes of the film, Bond has to get across the river as quickly as possible. The hero sees a dilapidated bridge and launches his AMC Hornet straight at it…

Beauty is literally in every detail here: skillfully disguised as the ruin of a bridge, a springboard with a certain profile, chosen angles, sound, replicas of heroes, forcing tension … And, of course, the trick itself is a jump with a turn 360 ° around the longitudinal axis. No editing, just the skill of a stuntman.

Since then, many have tried (some with success) to repeat such a “barrel”, but then it seemed like a perfect fantasy. By the way, the trick was filmed on the first take!

  • But many of the movie moments can never be performed in reality.
  • “Behind the Wheel” can be seen on RuTube.
