Replacing the engine turbine will cost the car owner about 300 thousand rubles. This was told to socialbites.ca by Rushan Mamyshev, head of the Honest Cars service center. According to the expert, the resource of the turbine after restoration will be at least 100 thousand km.

“People are afraid to buy used cars with turbines, as they consider such units to be complex, but in Russia they learned a long time ago how to repair them. Basically, the propeller, shaft or bearings fail. On average, the cost of a new turbine is 300 thousand rubles, the overhaul of the old one will cost 20-30% of this amount.

According to the expert, if the car has traveled 100,000 km and no repairs have been made, then you need to prepare to visit a service to diagnose the turbine.

“Condensation and leaks around the turbine can indicate a malfunction. Another way to identify the problem is to remove the nozzle of the unit. If there is oil in it, then you should not delay visiting the gas station, ”advised Mamyshev.

Earlier, Jan Haytseer, vice-president of the National Automobile Association, told socialbites.ca that if the car is not carefully driven out of the potholes, the car can suffer hidden damage.
