The assembly is domestic, but the development is not ours: in fact, the new gas diesel engine is the Chinese Foton 2.5, also known under the Aucan brand. The engine was developed by the Foton R&D center in Stuttgart with the collaboration of the engineering firms FEV and Ricardo.
Whatever it was, but the engine is interesting. It has common rail direct injection – and claims specific fuel consumption is reportedly 10% lower than competitors.
Also, the passport resource of the new engine is now known – 700 thousand kilometers. In the Russian version, the engine meets Euro-2 standards.
Well, the main indicators – they differ, because the engine has two versions: with a power of 150 hp, a torque of 330 Nm (for the G21A version) or 420 Nm in the G21C version.
