The South Korean manufacturer does not confirm its sale to a Kazakh company.

Hyundai has promised to report within a month on the future of its Russian plant in St. Petersburg. The automaker called it premature to claim that the factory will be sold to a company from Kazakhstan.

Hyundai is considering “several options” for its plant in Russia, but details have yet to be determined, the automaker said in a statement. Hyundai promised to announce the decision as soon as it is made or within a month.

At the same time, it was announced last week that the reorganization process at the company has been completed and the workforce has been reduced.

  • As previously reported, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the Government of St. Petersburg are working with Hyundai to find ways to resume operations at the St. Petersburg site. In particular, it was reported that negotiations were underway with an investor from Kazakhstan.
