How does it drive?

The chassis and powertrain remained the same. And this is generally not bad. On the road, the “seven” is still impressively comfortable. There are no questions about the dynamics in the city, but on the highway after 110 km / h, acceleration becomes tense.

The main problem is that fuel consumption increases exponentially. Even at 90 km/h it is quite large (9 l/100 km), and at 120 km/h the on-board computer indicates a terrifying 12 l/100 km. This is too much for a one and a half liter turbo engine. It’s good that the manufacturer does not prohibit refueling the AI-92.

What did you like?

I talked to the owners – no one complains about problems with the engine “digestion” (except for excellent appetite). Like it or not, the distributed injection fits our reality better than direct injection. In general, this motor is known to be quite reliable – the same goes for the V-belt variator.

And the owners have no serious complaints about the “seven”. Someone’s tire pressure sensors are grumbling, someone’s windshield has been replaced under warranty due to burnt heating wires, some won’t settle for a small gas tank (only 51 litres). But in general, everyone likes the car.

What’s missing?

Everyone asks for 4 wheel drive! I agree: on the ground clearance of 190 mm and a solid metal crankcase, a 4 × 4 transmission would be a good addition.

And you know what? The Chinese heard us. Closer to winter, all-wheel drive appears on the Tiggo 7. We will definitely test it!
