Having seen a potential victim moving behind him on the road, the car substitute brakes sharply, but not with the pedal, but with the parking brake. In this case, the brake lights do not illuminate. The driver behind does not have time to react and crashes into the intruder’s car. Usually it is an expensive foreign car.
Basically, car substitutes unobtrusively apply braking on road sections with a speed limit of 40 km / h. In such places, cars drive at a short distance and at low speed. This last circumstance makes it possible to avoid casualties in a collision. Remember, if harm is done to health, it is mandatory to call the traffic police.
Drivers of cheap cars are chosen as victims. Well, after an accident, scammers act according to the standard scheme – they insist on the immediate payment of monetary compensation without calling the traffic police.
What must we do?
Do not succumb to the persuasion of scammers and do not leave the scene of an accident. It is necessary to photograph the details of the accident from four sides and report the incident by calling 112.
You can fight against invaders well with their own methods. If you suspect a set-up after an accident, take a photo of the license plate of the fake car and the scammers themselves. If you are going to call the traffic police, in most cases scammers lag behind their victims.
Schedule 2. Payment for travel on a free road
This new schedule takes place on a large scale during the holidays, when the flow of cars is directed to the rest area. Many car owners do not even notice that they have entered the toll road zone. Internet scammers are rushing to take advantage of this. They create phishing sites that resemble the real sites of companies that offer paid services like two drops of water. Links to fake sites are then sent to motorists.

In the link to the fake site, one letter changes and at a glance it becomes impossible to distinguish the site of a real company from a fake one. In addition, the phishing site is designed in strict accordance with the site of the company operating the toll roads.
The realism of the situation is added by the fact that toll road operators actually send SMS notifications about the facts of debts.
How not to become a victim?
Don’t be in a rush to pay. You need to check the fact of the debt by finding the official page of the organization on the Internet. It will not be superfluous to check the debts on the vehicle’s license plate.
Scheme 3. “Triangle” – scam when selling a car
Under this scheme, both the seller and the buyer of the car are misled. To deceive, the scammer finds a real advertisement for the sale of a car, copies it and places it on other sites, but with a lower price for the car.
Then the fraudster begins to negotiate with the buyer, posing as a real seller, and with the owner of the car – as an interested buyer. Such scammers are also referred to as intermediary “packaging”. Further, the “legger” calls the buyer, makes an appointment and says that he cannot show the car himself and that his friend will come in his place. He is ready to receive payment for the purchase on a bank card.
The middleman “gasket” tells the real seller that his representative is coming to buy the car, who will sign all the documents. The supposedly genuine buyer undertakes to transfer the payment on the card to the seller. As a result, at the time of signing the purchase and sale agreement, the money for the car is credited to the intermediary’s card – “gasket”, which disappears with the amount received.
How to be?
Pay for the purchase only with the owner of the car, whose data is entered in the title. Ask him personally to which card to transfer money for buying a car.
A sure sign of a fake car crash
