Moisture in the car interior begins for various reasons, but most often – from the moisture that the driver and passengers carry on clothes and shoes, notes expert “Behind the wheel” Alexey Revin.
It happens that a clogged air filter restricts the supply of fresh air to the passenger compartment.
So he advises:
- Shake off the snow before you get in the car
- remove moisture from rubber troughs on the floor
- replace the cabin filter more often
- on a car with air conditioning, check whether the evaporator condensate drain pipe is clogged.
You can reduce the humidity in the cabin with a dehumidifier. Silica gel or regular cat litter can handle this. You can fill an old sock with granules and put it on the floor of the car – it will absorb excess moisture.
To avoid this, you can use special anti-fog for cars. Read the “Drive” material for more information on how to apply it.
