A man is suspected of setting fire to his ex-wife’s car because she refused to reconcile near Volgograd

In the city of Kotelnikovo, an unidentified person burned the car of a local resident. In this respect informs Press service of the Main Directorate of the Volgograd Region of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. The woman’s ex-husband is suspected of arson.

“The 36-year-old resident of Kotelnikovo contacted the police. The woman reported that an unidentified person set fire to her garage, which contained a Ford Focus car. As a result of the fire, the vehicle was completely burned and became unusable. The press service said in a statement that the damage amounted to 600 thousand rubles.

Police said they had identified the suspect. It turned out that the woman was her ex-husband. According to investigators, the man tried to reconcile with his ex-wife but was refused. He then went into the garage, poured oil on the car and set it on fire. For damaging property, a man faces up to five years in prison.
