Series production of the Lada Vesta NG will start on March 3. Cars will go on sale closer to May, so that the dealer network, according to the head of AvtoVAZ Maxim Sokolov, could collect the volume of such cars.
There were many rumors about when AVTOVAZ would resume production of the 16-valve 1.6-liter engine with 106 hp. (VAZ-21129). After all, this is exactly what is expected on the renewed Vesta, together with the “junior” 90 hp. (8-valve VAZ-11182).

The representative of AVTOVAZ explained to “Behind the wheel” that some cars with a 16-valve engine are still being produced at AVTOVAZ for internal testing. But they plan to put such an engine on production cars only in May. But the machine will have to wait until 2024.
By the way, about the “automatic”: most likely it will not be a classic torque converter automatic, but a variator. Although there is no official confirmation yet.
