Nissan is recalling more than 800,000 vehicles in Canada and the US. The reason for the announcement of the recall was the problem with the folding ignition key, according to data from the US and Canadian transport authorities.

According to the National Traffic Safety Administration, 712,458 vehicles will be recalled in the US. In Canada, the campaign covers 96,900 vehicles.

The manufacturer has discovered that the folding ignition key may eventually become unlocked in the unfolded position. In such a situation, even if accidentally hit, the engine may be turned off, leading to an accident.

The recall includes 2014-2020 Rogue crossovers (X-Trail in Russia), as well as 2017-2022 Rogue Sport and Qashqai.

It is noteworthy that this is the second recall of the Japanese automaker in the past month: just two weeks ago, it announced that it was recalling more than 460 thousand cars due to traumatic logos on the steering wheel.
