The office of the mayor of Lipetsk offered to spend one million rubles for the purchase of ten (!) new buses for the city, which surprised the members of the committee about the budget and municipal property of the City Council of Lipetsk.
As Evgeny Chekryzhov, chairman of the city department of transport, explained such a low price, this is a gift from the Ministry of Transport. That is, the ministry is transferring 10 new household electric buses to the city under special conditions.
Two super-fast charging stations will also be purchased together with the buses. However, only symbolic co-financing is required from Lipetsk, which greatly benefits the city.
Electric bus VOLGABUS 5270E
Electric buses and charging points for them are included in the package for the tram concession,” explains Evgeny Chekryzhov.
That is, all this is closely related to the renewal of the city’s tram network under a concession from Movista-Regions Lipetsk LLC. During the work, a new branch line with a length of more than 5 km will be constructed and 46 one-piece wagons will be purchased.
The new buses will be useful to residents of the city’s suburbs – they will transport passengers to the interchange stations and back home.
Previously, the city bought five electric buses (brands KAMAZ-55994E and VOLGABUS 5270E) at a cost of 82,500,000 rubles. They worked on routes, but broke down. Now they are waiting for new components (they need to replace broken foreign sensors with domestic ones), after which they immediately return to work.
