Elvis Presley’s derelict plane was auctioned for $260,000 with a starting price of $100,000.

Lockheed 1329 Jetstar spent four decades in the New Mexico desert, which could only affect its appearance.

The plane was purchased for $840,000 in December 1976, less than a year before Elvis’ death. It was one of many of his private planes.

Despite the ugly appearance from the outside, the luxurious interior is almost like new. Armchairs and sofas covered with red velvet, floor and walls covered with red carpet, almost not exposed to time.

According to the listing on the auction site, the in-flight entertainment system includes a TV, VCR, audio cassette player and headphone ports with volume controls in each seat.

Real gold is used in the decor (e.g. gold ashtrays here). The salon is designed for nine passengers, there is a large toilet and a kitchen.

The auction in Florida, where this plane was sold, was attended by 77-year-old Priscilla Presley, the ex-wife of the singer and mother of his only child, Lisa Marie Presley, who passed away on January 13, 2023.

The new owner plans to turn the aircraft into a museum for fans.
