The official representative of Iran’s Ministry of Industry, Mining and Trade Omid Ghalibaf said that Saipa will supply two models of its cars to Russia – Shahin and Quick, and Iran Khodro is also interested in the Russian market. Cars from both companies are now being certified.
Saipa has signed a contract with a Belarusian company for the export of 45,000 Shahin and Quick cars. The same two car models will be supplied to the Russian market,” said Galibaf.

There are problems with Western sanctions, so it’s not clear how the company will send its cars to Russia – directly or via Belarus. Perhaps some of these 45,000 vehicles are destined for Russia.
Earlier, the Russian ambassador to Tehran, Alexei Dedov, said that two Iranian manufacturers would supply cars to Russia.
But the Ministry of Industry and Commerce noted that deliveries of Iranian cars will not be possible until the necessary certification is in place, and it has not started yet.
Ghalibaf said the vehicles are being certified, negotiations are underway with Moscow, but no supply agreements with Moscow yet.
