In January 2023, sales of new passenger cars, light commercial vehicles and pickups in Russia fell by 43.9% to 52,580 units, such data is provided by ACM Holding (the research is available to Za Rulem).
Sales January:
- passenger cars – 47,660 units. (-43.9%)
- light commercial vehicles – 4103 pcs. (-48.4%)
- pickups – 817 units. (8.6%).

ACM Holding specialists gave a forecast for the current year, which deviates significantly from other forecasts presented in the market. They think that sales of new cars will grow by 25% in 2023 compared to the results of 2022. The growth is mainly expected due to the sales of Chinese brands.
At the same time, the light commercial vehicle segment will grow even more this year – by 30% compared to last year’s result.
Experts promise to provide a more accurate forecast based on the sales results of the first four months of 2023.
