The legendary SUV Land Cruiser 70 will be available in Japan in November this year. Toyota plans to return it to its lineup and start production in September.

For the home market, the Land Cruiser 70 is a special model, so Toyota wants to approach its return with all responsibility. In particular, the company plans to change the design, as a result of which the SUV will be produced with partial or full LED optics.

There is still little data on the technical side of the updated Nanamaru (that’s the name of the model in Japan). Most likely, the rear suspension of the SUV will be on leaf springs and the car will be equipped with a 2.8-liter 1GD diesel engine from Land Cruiser Prado, combined with a six-speed automatic transmission.

As noted, Nanamaru remains in demand in the aftermarket: some cars have nearly 100,000 miles on them and are worth more than list price.
