The refinement improved the passability of Vladimirets on wet ground, while allowing movement on asphalt roads without damaging the surface.
Additional equipment for the T-28 included a pair of rubber metal tracks and two sets of tensioners (left and right).
These tensioners were basically an extra pair of wheels, similar to the front wheels, installed in the base between the front and rear wheels.
If necessary, the tracks could be easily dismantled and the central wheels hung on the frame to restore the tractor to its former form.
Mikhail Kolodochkin has been collecting unusual facts from the history of technology for many years. Did you know, for example, that a trolleybus tractor was once produced in our country?
