The press service of the Moscow Museum of Transport reports that the full restoration of the 1970s ZiU-5D trolleybus has been completed.
It sounds almost unbelievable, but this car will be back on the streets 30 years after the end of its service period. The trolleybus will make regular tours along a special route “T”, created by the museum and passing through the center of the capital – from the square with three stations.
During the restoration of the ZiU-5D, the frame elements were almost completely replaced, the points of corrosion on the roof and frame were removed, the body trim and the upholstery of the seats in the passenger compartment were replaced, and the upholstery of the walls and ceiling replacement of the passenger compartment was also restored. So, passengers are waiting for a trip in a very stylish car.
