The Stellantis concern found itself in the role of full size electric pickups catching up in the field. Competitors have already launched such cars in the series: Ford – F-150 Lightning, GM – Chevrolet Silverado EV and GMC Sierra EV. And Ram just showed his version, and then in the status of a prototype.
Looks like the delay was worth it.
The concept is known from competitors: frame and four-wheel drive by two motors. The premium status is emphasized by air suspension, a fully controlled chassis with a rear wheel angle of up to 15 degrees and 24-inch wheels.
The Ram 800 concept pickup truck is based on Stellantis’ proprietary platform, the STLA Frame.
The Ram pickup’s electrical system is 800 volts, charging up to 350 kW is supported. Unfortunately, there are no other features of the electrical part yet. Except for the news that wireless charging is offered as an accessory.

Technologies on the concept showed a huge amount.
For example, Ram can drive at minimum speed in “shadow mode” – repeating the trajectory of the owner walking in front of him. That is, you can literally show the car a new parking space if it is located very close.
The glass roof is integrated with the windscreen and has an electrochromic coating.
One of the two touch screens on the front panel can be removed and used, for example, as a remote control for a projector built into the windshield, allowing a movie theater to be mounted on the wall of a house or garage.
There are four seats in the cabin.
There is a third row of seats, unprecedented for pickups. By default it is complicated, and to raise it you need to make room for those sitting in the second row and fold the partition between the body and the cabin.
The luggage compartment floor can be moved back and still has a rear restrictive border.
There is also a trunk in the front. And here is the most interesting. The floor in the cabin is absolutely flat (the overhead console can be removed from the passenger compartment), there is a hatch in the front trunk and a lowered rear wall. Such a “through” layout allows the owner to carry a length of up to 5.5 m and does not creep out of the dimensions of the pickup.
The pickup won’t go on sale until 2024.
