In 2022, deliveries of used cars from Japan to Russia will increase by 32% (to 213.5 thousand units), according to an official representative of the Japan Used Car Exporters Association (JUMVEA).
It was the supply of used cars that last year formed the basis of Japanese exports to the Russian Federation, the volume of which as a whole decreased by almost 30% due to trade sanctions. This to some extent compensated for the losses resulting from the cessation of supply of new Japanese cars and their assembly at the enterprises of Japanese companies in Russia.

The most sought-after models are SUVs such as the Toyota Land Cruiser. The specialist believes that the increased interest of Russians is due to the good technical condition of such cars (in general) and low mileage, as well as the good work of the port of Vladivostok and the depreciation of the yen against the dollar and the euro.
