Last year’s most popular car parts were parts for popular mass-produced cars: Lada (parts for cars of this brand account for 15% of sales of car parts on Ozon), Hyundai, Kia and Renault (4 each %), Nissan, Chevrolet and Ford (3% each).
For Lada cars, Russians usually buy spare parts for maintenance, optics and body parts. For Kia – components of the ignition and suspension systems. Engine parts are popular with Renault owners, electrical equipment is popular with Chevrolet owners.
Overall, steering parts sales grew the most in 2022, up 8.8 times compared to 2021.
The Russians were no less active last year in buying spare parts for transmissions. The most popular here were CV joints for all Lada models, anthers for CV joints and transfer case parts. Overall, sales of Ozone transmission parts grew 8.5 times compared to 2021.
Russian car owners were also interested in many other car parts last year. The fastest growing sales, according to Ozon, were:
- body parts – more than 7 times more than in 2021
- car energy systems – more than 7 times more
- car suspension – growing by 6.7 times
- heating and air conditioning for cars — 6.3 times growth
- braking system – an increase of 6 times.
Sales of spare parts for motorcycles, trailers and agricultural machinery also grew strongly. Demand for engine parts increased 12 times year-over-year, with starter batteries, rear-view mirrors and repair kits being the most purchased items in this category.
Sales of spare parts for tractors and special agricultural machines grew 13 times compared to 2021.
