Every February, JD Power publishes a survey of automobile reliability. This year it is based on the maintenance data of 30,062 vehicles less than three years old.
The general conclusion is that reliability is slowly but surely increasing. Problems arise only with advanced technologies and infotainment systems.
The rating is based on the number of problems per 100 vehicles. The smaller the coefficient, the more reliable the model. The average this year was 186, 6 points more than in 2022.
The best in 2023 were Lexus cars by a factor of 133. So Lexus also leads the list of premium brands and is the best in the overall ranking.
The first place among mass brands and third in the overall ranking is occupied by Kia cars with a coefficient of 152. The second place among premium brands and in the overall ranking is occupied by Genesis cars with a score of 144.
General Motors has two brands in the top five: Buick with 159 and Chevrolet with 162 points.

As for specific models, Lexux RX and Toyota C-HR were recognized as the most reliable.
Among compact and medium-sized cars, Kia Forte and Optima were the most reliable, and among crossovers – Kia Sportage.
Chevrolet Tahoe and Blazer, GMC Sierra and Toyota Tacoma pickup also distinguished themselves by reliability.
