Blogger Rich Rebuilds recently bought a hurricane-damaged Audi e-Tron and is trying to get it working again.

The new car, originally priced at $110,000, eventually sold for $56,000 with signs of flood damage – salt water particularly damaged the electricity.

To begin with, the blogger and his team decided to thoroughly dry the car, and it was too expensive to use silica gel for this. It was decided to use expired rice bought cheaply.

The car was placed in a giant box and covered with 2 tons of decayed rice. To prevent it from absorbing water from the atmosphere at the same time, Audi was wrapped in a tarpaulin and left there for several days. Then the rice was collected with a vacuum cleaner.

This not only started the car, but allowed it to drive a little, although the dashboard still showed almost all the error codes. A full recovery is still a long way off, but this is already progress.
