It is known that two versions of combat robots will be tested in the NMD zone: reconnaissance and shock. Three more versions will be added soon.
Robots will explore the area, including offline, and keep an eye on the enemy using drones.
Such a drone rises to a height of, for example, 150 meters and provides a view of up to 20 kilometers, using thermal imaging cameras, among other things. Working on the cable removes the restriction on the drone’s power supply – it does not need a battery and, moreover, the control system cannot be affected by electronic warfare tools, ”said Dmitry Rogozin, former head of Roscosmos.
The shock version of the Marker robot gets powerful weapons. This includes a heavy machine gun, an automatic grenade launcher and missiles.
Robots can act completely autonomously. The target recognition system “Markers” is based on a neural network that can handle the task faster and better than a human. The robot also demonstrates high accuracy in destroying flying objects. At the same time, the shooting complex can rotate on its axis at an incredible speed – up to 350 degrees per second (almost a full turn).
The combat version of the “Marker” robot has an electronic catalog in the control system with images of targets both in the visible range and in the infrared. This way the robot can automatically determine the opponent’s technique. For example, once the delivery of Abrams and Leopard tanks to the Ukrainian forces begins, Marker will receive an appropriate electronic image and can automatically detect and hit US and German tanks with ATGMs,” said Rogozin.
Marker was developed by Android Technology and the Advanced Research Foundation. It is equipped with anti-tank missiles, self-mounted grenade launchers, machine guns and other weapons. It can also carry unmanned aerial vehicles and medical equipment.
