Vice-President of the National Automobile Union Jan Haytseer links the fall in new car sales in Russia first of all with the rise in car prices, for which the Russians were not ready. He suggested that the market will continue to fall.
It is clear that not everyone is ready for the new prices. They are not ready for high prices for domestic products, as well as for Chinese cars, which now cost one and a half times more than they used to. The same cars that enter the country via parallel imports also do not have an attractive price. The circle of buyers willing to spend money on them is quite narrow, ”the expert noted.

Another factor influencing the fall in car sales in Russia, Heitzeer called potential buyers’ lack of confidence “in their tomorrow’s income”. He noted that the lion’s share of cars have been bought on credit and it is clear that the proportion of such buyers has decreased significantly.
