Rising prices for raw materials, currency fluctuations and logistical problems – all this will cause a sharp increase in car tire prices in 2022, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation reported.
Recall that according to Rosstat, the average cost of tires for passenger cars in the country will increase by 23.5% in 2022.

Price changes for on-shelf tires are delayed by a processing delay of up to 3 months (subject to raw material price changes) and a delay between tire production and delivery to retail of up to 6 months. For example, a summer tire will be produced in November 2022 from raw materials purchased at the prices of August 2022 and will end up on the shelf in February 2023,” the ministry said.
Stocks for the summer have already been formed, so a shortage is not expected. In addition, there is some overcapacity, so manufacturers are not interested in unreasonable price increases.
After the transfer of ownership of the factories located in the Russian Federation and their launch at full capacity, it is likely that tire prices will even fall, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
