Mazda discontinues the popular crossover

365,135 crossovers sold in 2022 Mazda CX-5. to sell Mazda decreased by 13.3% to 1,116,107 vehicles. At the same time, the demand for CX-5 fell only 4.4%.

In second place in popularity is the Mazda3 (173,619 cars sold). The gap between first place and second place is huge.

Despite all this, the company is not sure about that CX-5 will be the third generation.

When asked what the future holds for the CX-5, product manager Mitsuru Wakiie unexpectedly replied:

“I’m not sure if we’re going to introduce the new CX-5 or not, so I can’t give details.”

He did not go into details, but the model will be discontinued after the second-generation lifecycle comes to an end.

At the beginning of last year, a more spacious CX-50 crossover appeared in the line-up. The CX-60 was also introduced, built on a new rear-wheel drive platform and equipped with six-cylinder inline engines. The company probably wants these models to come out of the shadows CX-5.

Mazda The CX-5 received an update in 2022, meaning the crossover will remain on sale for a few more years.
