This happened in Novy Urengoy, where the problem of non-compliance with traffic rules by drivers of vehicles regarding getting under the bus is particularly acute.
On the territory of the entire Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, more than 80 drunk drivers have been brought under administrative responsibility since early 2022 and more than 30 have refused a medical examination, the Okrug traffic police reported.
But a drunk driver poses a danger to others, so the city’s car enthusiasts do not remain indifferent and report such cases to the police. For example, the unit on duty of the Russian Ministry of the Interior for the city of Novy Urengoy received a message from a local resident that he had noticed a driver on the road who was (presumably) drunk.
The traffic police patrol team immediately went to the indicated place and during the arrest and check it was determined that the driver was intoxicated.
In accordance with the decision of the Government of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Region of January 30, 2020 No. 81-P “On the financing of the costs related to the compensation of citizens for informing the police about crimes and threats to the public order”, the applicant has received a reward of 4,000 rubles.
