Toyota has completed previously planned organizational and personnel layoff activities at a St. Petersburg plant. Of the 1,937 people who were employed at the time of the start of the winding down procedure, 277 remained with the company, of whom 76 are employed at the St. Petersburg plant.
Upon termination of the contract by agreement of the parties, each employee received compensation of 12 or more average salaries (depending on seniority and position), and also retained the VHI policy for one year after termination.
Toyota stopped producing its cars in Russia in March 2022 and exporting finished cars to the country. Work on staff reductions at the St. Petersburg plant began in mid-November.
