The Ka-52 is a very elegant reconnaissance and attack helicopter, says the commander of one of these machines, called Lumberjack. He also explained the purpose of the maneuver shown in one of the videos published by the Russian Defense Ministry.
This is an element of aerobatics “slide”, which lasts only five seconds. It is at this time that a blow is dealt to the enemy.
“They performed the task of destroying the enemy’s manpower. Ka-52 – it is, in my opinion, more elegant, more maneuverable, forgives many mistakes. On the way, first of all, you need to avoid wires, which are very numerous everywhere. And on the battlefield it is important that the enemy does not see you – neither visually nor technically. To do this, before striking, we press ourselves as low as possible to the ground, then we jump out to shoot up at certain distances, shoot at a certain angle of inclination, and then sharply turn away and go down. All this takes no more than five seconds,” Izvestia quotes the explanation of the Woodcutter.
The attack is carried out by 80 millimeter unguided aircraft missiles. As you can see in the captured footage, the attacks are very accurate.
The upgraded Ka-52 helicopters were used recently – on January 11 – in the NMD zone. They are armed with high-precision Izdeliye 305 missiles, which were first presented at the Army-2021 exhibition. They are designed to beat both individual and group targets, stationary and moving, regardless of the time of day.
