What is the fate of car factories abandoned by various companies? What is the role of NAMI?
Abandoned car factories have a different fate.
The Volkswagen plant in Kaluga, according to some information, will be managed by the GAZ group (although officially Volkswagen is still in Russia).
Ford Sollers JV capacities in Elabuga are already managed by Sollers Auto. By the way, the company confirmed its intention to assemble cars of another brand at the former joint factory with Mazda in Vladivostok.
The future of the Hyundai-Kia (St. Petersburg) and PSMA (Kaluga) plants has not yet been determined.
And FSUE NAMI (Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation) acquired a majority stake in AVTOVAZ and is considering several options for loading the Nissan site in St. Petersburg. Recently there was information about a collaboration with the Chinese company FAW.
Complete clarity only with the former Moscow company Renault. It was handed over to the city administration and renamed Moskvich.
