The results of 2022 in an interview with Ulyanovsk journalists were summarized by the head of UAZ, Chairman of the Board of Directors and one of the shareholders of Sollers PJSC Adil Shirinov. He spoke in particular about the supply of components and explained what parts SUVs will be made of if they come under pressure from sanctions. According to Shirinov, the emphasis should be on Russian suppliers as much as possible.
“Today we don’t have any European players. Something was replaced by supplies from China and Turkey. But the main focus is on domestic suppliers. For those who had some experience and who they had worked with before, but moved to the European or Asian market due to different circumstances. We start working with someone from scratch. This applies to heating systems that need to be developed and that we will focus on in January-February,” said Shirinov.
In addition, the head of the enterprise also highlighted the problem of sales of Ulyanovsk cars in 2022, saying that sales and production of UAZ vehicles exceeded 35 thousand cars, and the decrease from 2021 will not exceed 15% will be.
