On the road, it resembles a framed SUV, slow to respond to steering and tolerant of a badly broken road. Although the suspension already seems rough in the city, instead of the not always predictable robotic “hydromechanics” would better suit the character of the car. But the design of the cab with handrails and thick A-pillars is purely off-road.

Saves the remote engine start and the activation of various hot options through the My Haval application. True, there is a caveat here – our Dargo is one of the first, still assembled in Tula. Now most cars are sold from a Chinese factory and almost all of them do not have a T-Box telematics unit, which means there is no way to control the car from a smartphone.

The turbo engine does not heat up slowly, the heating kit is complete. True, the front seats move slowly and unevenly. And immediately after a cold start, their heating cannot be turned on – the media system is loaded for a whopping 20 seconds!

Winter came early this year and Dargo was ready for it. I like that the side windows and mirrors are not sprinkled with reagent slurry. And I’d get rid of the footpegs that depend on Tech Plus’s top-of-the-range version – they’re narrow and stupid, they just get the pants dirty.

Ordinary wiper blades creak, but so far the tinder is acceptable. Looking at the complex shape of the windshield, I predict that Dargo will be picky about their quality – apparently they will need to be replaced more often.

Well done, for Russia they increased the windshield washer reservoir to 4.5 liters – but where is the level sensor? Only the lack of lighting of the glove compartment is more surprising – and this is with the car for 3.0 – 3.7 million rubles.

In addition, Dargo is filled with various electronics from the heart. The possibilities of settings, personalization, driving assistants are amazing – I’ll tell you separately when we really check the Russian winter. Yes, not everything works perfectly.

And something needs to be done about fuel consumption. With a consumption of 12 l / 100 km in a combined cycle, Dargo apparently really sees itself as a Land Cruiser. No matter how “vomit” is on the highway, less than 10 l / 100 km does not come out. Pouring 92e gasoline into a 6W4N20 turbocharged engine with a compression ratio of 12.0 does not raise a hand – although the manufacturer seems to allow it. But it is necessary not to like the car at all. Dargo is not the case at all.
