AVTOVAZ considers it necessary to protect the domestic market from foreign cars. To do this, the Russian automaker proposes to increase scrap collection. According to the head of AVTOVAZ, Maxim Sokolov, this measure will help maintain the import barrier.
“The scrapping fee today is 170 thousand rubles, and if earlier in relation to the price of a car it was such a stopping factor – about 10-15 percent in some models, now it is much lower than 10 percent. The volume of waste collection urgently needs to be increased, so that it really is a measure to protect the domestic market.” observed Sokolov.
The usage fee is mandatory for all companies operating in Russia. Currently, the base rate for a passenger car is 20 thousand rubles and is multiplied by a coefficient depending on the engine size. At the same time, the state compensates the amount of compensation paid, depending on the percentage of localization of production. The last time the energy surcharge was increased was in 2020.
