FSUE “NAMI” will transfer the former plant of the Nissan concern in St. Petersburg to AVTOVAZ before the end of winter. This was announced by the president of the company Maxim Sokolov.
Nissan’s Russian assets, including the St. Petersburg plant, were acquired by NAMI in late November last year. The deal was completed for a symbolic price and includes a repurchase option within six years.
Under the terms of the deal, AVTOVAZ took over the after-sales service of the brand’s cars in the Russian Federation and the supply of spare parts.
The head of AvtoVAZ said earlier that the St. Petersburg site will produce Chinese class C and D cars according to the SKD method. Cars will leave the assembly line under the Lada logo or under a double brand.
