In 2022, 626,281 vehicles were sold in Russia, which is 58.7% less than a year earlier.
Lada remained the leader among brands and increased its market share to almost 28%, while in 2021 it was only 22.25%. But last year, Russians bought 174,688 new Lada cars, which is 48.2% less than last year.
The top five car brands also include Kia, Hyundai, Renault and Chery. At the same time, only the “Chinese” Geely and Exeed showed growth in sales of all brands represented in Russia at the end of the year.
It is interesting to compare the current volume of the car market for new cars with the figures from ten years ago: 626,281 cars in 2022 against 2.935 million cars and light commercial vehicles in 2012.
