Rosstandart announced the recall on the Russian market of 1217 Jeep Grand Cherokee sold since 2018.
In these vehicles, the hydraulic control unit of the anti-lock brake system module (HCU/ABS) may incorrectly sense the pressure in the primary circuit. Improper pressure sensing can cause brake lights to come on by themselves. In addition, the system can ensure that the engine is started and the gear lever is moved out of the park position without depressing the brake pedal.
Owners of these vehicles are requested to contact authorized dealer centers for diagnosis and repair.
If necessary, the ABS control unit is reprogrammed with the latest software version.
To determine if their vehicle is eligible for a recall, owners can compare their vehicle’s VIN against the attached list (file located on the Documents tab).
All work is performed free of charge for owners.
