According to the sales results in 2022 in Europe, the Volkswagen Tiguan took only tenth place in popularity. The crossover is a bit outdated, and the Wolfsburg company began work on a new generation Tiguan.
The new road test photos show that the prototype is very similar to the current generation of the model. But if you look closely, you can see a lot of stickers that make the car look like her.
The headlights and grilles, but also the C-shaped accents of the air intake in the front bumper, the lower part of the doors and the tailpipes are all stickers with which they try to mislead us.
VW is going to make the new generation of the crossover a little bigger. The platform on which the car is designed is a modified version of the current generation platform. That is, the wheelbase does not increase, but the overhangs have clearly increased.
The new Tiguan will not be an electric car in order not to compete with the Volkswagen ID.4 and ID.5. The novelty, most likely, will receive modified versions of engines already known to us, including hybrid power plants.
Volkswagen has now been testing the new Tiguan for over a month. The premiere is probably not far off. Although the company can only present a novelty in the second half of 2023.
The crossover will definitely come to Russia. If not officially, then according to the parallel import scheme.
