A flat tire is one of the most common and at the same time most dangerous incidents that can occur on the road, especially with trucks. How will manufacturers of driverless tractors respond to this?

Kodiak Robotics seems to have found a solution to this problem. During testing, her truck showed a typical reaction to a flat tire.

The car crashes into a special device that punctures its tyre, after which the autopilot brings the truck to a safe and confident halt, keeping it in lane.

The system detected a tire break, braked, engaged emergency speed and stopped with minimal deviation from the center of the track.
