Unexpected parallels with Soviet technology are recognized in some models.
Thus, the Dongfeng EQ6670PT bus resembles the old Soviet PAZ-3206 with all-wheel drive. In many ways, these machines can be considered virtually analogous.

The Dongfeng EQ6670PT has a 4.5 liter Cummins diesel engine with a capacity of 140 horsepower, and the PAZ has a 4.7 liter ZMZ-5234 gasoline engine with a capacity of 130 hp. Dongfeng’s rear wheels are single-sided, the tailgate is double-hinged, and no mean hatch. We add that air conditioning at PAZ was simply impossible.
But the prices are close again: the source writes that the approximate price of Dongfeng EQ6670PT is about $ 44,000, ie 3.2 million rubles, while PAZ-32053/54 (the successor to PAZ-3206) costs from 3 million rubles.
We will not say for sure that there is a real historical connection between these buses. We only note that both have another very close analogue – the Japanese Toyota Coaster.
