On a trip of 105 thousand km, the expansion tank of the cooling system burst. I went to the auto parts store, where I was pleasantly surprised by the availability and price. Mi-DO has a Kalina tank.
There are two options: normal and enhanced. The difference lies in the quality of the plastic and in the extra transverse stiffeners. The price ranges from 300 to 700 rubles. The cork is sold separately for 250 rubles.
Due to the cramped layout, it will not be possible to quickly replace the tank – the battery will interfere with the fuse box and the pipes of the ABS unit.
I did not dare to change it alone in the cold, and at the nearest service the work cost 1000 rubles.
The mechanic’s emotional expressions about a particular design were well worth that amount.
