As of today, owners of cars and trucks with a maximum authorized mass of no more than 3.5 tons can reach a speed of 130 km/h at M-11 “Neva” from the 59th km in the Moscow region to St. Petersburg
To reduce the risk of accidents on the M-11 motorway, the maximum speed limit in winter has been 110 km/h since November last year.
From April 16, an increased speed limit has been introduced on the section from the 517th to the 544th km of the highway M-4 “Don” bypassing Novaya Usman and Rogachevka in the Voronezh region. Here too, the maximum speed will increase from 110 to 130 km/h.
The fact that these sections M-11 “Neva” and M-4 “Don” correspond to the highest technical category 1A makes it possible to increase the speed on these sections, they do not have pedestrian crossings and intersections with other roads at the same level.
The roads are equipped with elements of a traffic management system – CCTV cameras, vehicle detectors, an incident detection system, weather stations.
Variable information boards alert drivers to changes in the weather or traffic patterns.
