We talk about the main changes that await motorists this year.
Changes to the SDA were made by government decree, which should come into effect on March 1, 2023.
Ban on parking on “safety islands”
The so-called “safety islands” will be marked with white striped markings and it will not be possible to stop on them. For violating parking rules, the violator can be fined 500 rubles, and in federal cities, Moscow and St. Petersburg, the fine reaches 2,500 rubles. In addition, the law now allows cars parked on “safety islands” to be evacuated and sent to an impounded lot.
New formatting colors
Paid parking spaces are marked with blue lines, free parking spaces remain white. Paid parking signs will have coins added to the traditional letter “P”, previously depicted on a separate white sign.
New traffic light section
There is a new section with a silhouette of a pedestrian/cyclist and an arrow with a flashing moon-white signal. This section should be located below the traffic lights and serves to inform motorists that pedestrians and cyclists may detour the exit at the crossing.
