The Combat Crew blog team competed against the legendary Soviet truck ZIL-130, which had been standing still for a long time. The old engine was so bad that a new one had to be installed, but the repair took almost a week.
In the owner’s yard, under the snow, was the engine that had to be put on the car. It seems that they took it so rudely from another ZIL that they broke the candles, the wings and even the dipstick for measuring the oil level.
Gradually the engine was put in order. The ZIL was towed with the help of a GAZ-66 to the parking lot, where other bloggers’ cars are parked. As a crane, an installation based on the ZIL-157 with wheels from a missile carrier was used.
Technicians tinkered for six days to replace the engine and start the car. She buzzed the first time and went right away. The truck was then tested off-road.
