In Russian it is pronounced “tank”. The brand specializes in frame SUVs and only became independent in 2021.
So far, only the brand itself has been presented. The start sale is the first half of 2023. Most likely this will happen in February.
Where could I buy?
Initially, dealers will work in nine cities: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Kemerovo, Voronezh, Chelyabinsk, Tolyatti and Nizhny Novgorod. However, there is no doubt: the brand has dozens of applications, the network will grow rapidly.
They promise not only to sell SUVs in the traditional way, but also online. We hope that this will not be a formal, but a real opportunity for buyers, with a constantly available machine park.
As another feature, they promise a mobile application with unusually broad capabilities. There will be a kind of social network for tank owners and a full-fledged magazine with publications.
What kind of cars?
Sales will start with two models.
Tank 300 Similar in design to the Haval Dargo, but the body is not load-bearing, but on a frame. Dimensions – 4760 × 1970 × 1930 mm, base 2750 mm. On the road, a clearance of 224 mm, a lowering, locking of both cross-axle differentials and a transparent hood function help. And there is also the possibility of a “refuelling”. By braking individual wheels, the electronics minimize the turning radius, which is useful in tight spaces.
The 2.0 turbo engine is new on our market, it develops 220 hp. of. Another difference between the “three hundred” and the crossovers of the related Haval brand is the classic 8-speed automatic instead of the preselective robots that have come into fashion. Options mentioned include adaptive cruise control, heating, ventilation and a massager in the front seats, nappa leather upholstery, an audio system with subwoofer.
The second novelty is bigger tank 500. At 4878mm long, it’s almost a Land Cruiser 300. Off-road driving capabilities are the same as the younger model. But the power station is different. Status and rarely found on the “Chinese” engine – a three-liter V6 supercharged. It develops 299 hp. of. and works with a 9-speed automatic transmission. Don’t be surprised you don’t see steps on a large-frame SUV: they’re retractable, with an electric drive. Another interesting feature is a touch-sensitive climate control for the rear passengers and an active noise suppression system.
How many?
Prices will be announced closer to the start of sales. If Haval Dargo costs 3-3.7 million rubles, and H9 – 4.1-4.3 million, then for Tank premium frames we would assume prices of 4.2 million for the “three hundredth” and at least 5.5 million for “five hundredth”.
