The Hyundai plant in St. Petersburg is working again

The Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Rus (HMMR) plant, which had been shut down for a long time, started working again. However, now he does not make finished cars, but Hyundai Solaris bodies for export to Kazakhstan (a plant in Alma-Ata), where they turn into full-fledged cars.

According to sources, it is planned to produce bodies for Hyundai Creta in the future.

An enterprise in St. Petersburg produced 234,000 Hyundai Solaris, Hyundai Creta and Kia Rio cars in 2021. The latter has long been among the top three best-selling cars in the Russian market.
