Insurers have not abandoned the idea of ​​using used parts in car repairs. The shortage still exists, they estimate the lack of the range of necessary parts at 15-20%.

The head of the All-Russian Union of Insurers Yevgeny Ufimtsev said in an interview with Izvestia that used parts are already being actively used. So, left-hand drive cars have long been repaired with used spare parts, and no one bothers.

You only need to legalize the existing standard, and in clearly defined situations. That is, officially allow the use of those parts that do not affect safety: bumpers, fenders, etc.

To legalize this, it is necessary to implement all legislation. The process is not fast, it takes three to six months.

“We will soon contact the administration of the Primorsky Territory, where such details are most actively used to allow the repair of used spare parts in individual regions as an experiment. This project could start as early as the first quarter of 2023,” said Ufimtsev.

Insurers also hope for a more active start from factories that used to produce parts for the assembly of new cars, but have now shifted their focus to the production of parts for repairs. In addition, deliveries of spare parts analogues have already been made through China, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Kazakhstan and India.
