Adil Shirinov, chairman of Sollers’ board of directors, said the Vladivostok plant will continue to operate after Mazda leaves. Most likely, SUVs based on Chinese cars will take the place of Japanese models.
“I think we can talk more about this after the turn of the year. It is now important for us to develop the light commercial vehicle and full-size SUV segments, where we have a unique market position.”– concluded Shirinov.
He also noted that now it makes sense to assemble cars in Vladivostok, because, firstly, the location is favorable in terms of supplies from China, and secondly, there is a need for new cars everywhere.
