At the former Nissan plant, it is planned to produce Lada cars more expensive than the main line, at least three models will be produced at the start, said Maxim Sokolov, president of AvtoVAZ.
These are not premium cars, but they are not cheap either – segments C and D, both sedans and crossovers, he noted.
Now AvtoVAZ is in the final stage of negotiations, and perhaps several manufacturers will become potential partners. The novelties will “balance” AVTOVAZ’s current model range, increasing the demand for the brand’s cars.
At the same time, it is important to ensure that the products produced on the Nissan site, on the one hand, are modern, innovative, worthy of our consumers, and on the other hand, do not compete with the main line of AVTOVAZ. She also gets development – both Vesta and future generation Granta.
Production at the former Nissan plant in St. Petersburg will resume in the second half of 2023 and up to 10,000 cars will be produced next year.
