On December 24, 2013, the last “fifteen” or VAZ-2115 rolled off the AVTOVAZ assembly line. The five-door front-wheel drive hatchback was the last representative of the LADA Samara family.
The very first model was the “eight” or VAZ-2108. It accounts for 70% of the total number of cars produced by Samara.
VAZ-2115
To produce LADA Samara, more than 20 foreign licenses were acquired: for rack and pinion steering, clutch, door locks, tires, front disc brakes, etc. Foreign companies also participated in the creation of cars at different times: Porsche, UTS and FIAT.
The family also includes: VAZ-2109, VAZ-21099, VAZ-213, VAZ-2114.
In 2013, director Alexei Uchitel shot the movie “Eight”, in which the VAZ-2108 is an integral part of the plot.
